The Art & SCIENCE of Love:

A Weekend Workshop for Couples

Presented by: Gottman Master Trainers Mike McNulty, PhD & Sinead Smyth, LMFT

Mike McNulty, PhD is the longest standing advanced clinical trainer, certified Gottman therapist (2005), and certified Gottman workshop leader (2007) sponsoring and presenting "The Art & Science of Love: A Weekend Workshop for Couples" in the Chicago area.  He has presented this workshop locally and in other parts of the USA 50 plus times since 2007.  Dr. Mike has trained and consulted with hundreds of therapists seeking to learn The Gottman Method in the USA, Ireland, and Sri Lanka. He has been quoted in the Business Insider, Parade.com, Thrive Global, and many other media platforms. He loves bringing the method to couples and clinicians to help them improve relationships.  His recent post on Gottman.com addresses how to cope with uncertainty caused by COVID-19.

Sinead Smyth, LMFT, is the founder and owner of the East Bay Relationship Center.  As a certified Gottman Therapist and advanced clinical trainer, Smyth trains and gives professional talks on relationship-related topics for Employee Assistance programs, church and community groups and to therapists, both in the USA and Europe.  She is often quoted on relationship and parenting issues on major media platforms including the Washington Post, New York Times, and Today.com. With our special guest,

Tom Ryan, MS, LCPC, is a certified Gottman Relationship Therapist and Couples Workshop Leader. He comes to the task of healing relationships after years of skepticism about the effectiveness of couples counseling. Originally trained in the sciences, he was intrigued by the research done by the Gottman Institute and decided to take a closer look. Since then his practice, once focused on victims of trauma, has become largely directed to helping couples create solid, lasting and satisfying relationships. He has worked with over 100 couples using the Gottman method, even conducting Marathon Therapy sessions for couples too far away to take advantage of weekly therapy sessions. Tom has offices in Oak Park, Downer's Grove, and Plainfield, IL. To learn more about Tom Ryan, visit his website here.
